The Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia announced the plan to establish the Red Sea Museum in Bab Al-Bunt in Jeddah, which will open in the second half of 2020.
The museum's collection will cover more than 100 types of art works, including manuscripts, photos and books, which reflect the unique city of Jeddah and its history of shipping, trade and pilgrims, and display the historical contact between residents of the Red Sea Coast and the world.
The museum will become Saudi’s new art landmark to showcase the history of interaction between various nations. In addition, it is a window to promote the culture and history of the country, recording the communication between diversified culture and people in the Red Sea area.
